Polsinelli Adds Shareholder to Corporate Finance Group

Philip McDermott

Polsinelli announced Thursday that shareholder Philip McDermott has joined the firm’s business services division in Denver. He joins the firm’s national securities and corporate finance practice group, with a specialized focus on investment management and Funds.

McDermott has experience in the formation and operation of investment funds in a range of strategies and asset classes, including private equity, real estate, performing and stressed credit, venture capital, hedge funds and more. McDermott works with clients in the real estate industry, representing developers and institutional capital providers on joint ventures.

“We are pleased to have Phil join our investment management and funds practice,” said Polsinelli securities and corporate finance practice chair Kevin Vold. “His experience working in-house at a publicly traded alternative asset management firm expands our ability to provide practical legal counsel infused with business insight to our investment fund sponsor and institutional investor clients.”

“We welcome Phil both back to his home state of Colorado and to Polsinelli,” said Denver office managing partner Jennifer Evans. “Polsinelli continues to expand its corporate offerings in Denver, and we are excited to add Phil’s experience with fund sponsors and institutional investors to our team here in Denver.”

McDermott is relocating from Austin, Texas, to join Polsinelli’s growing Denver office.

“Polsinelli is a thoughtful, sophisticated firm with great people who are down-to-earth,” said McDermott. “I look forward to partnering with this talented group, both locally and nationally.”

McDermott received a bachelor’s degree from Claremont McKenna College and a law degree from the University of Texas School of Law.
