Matthew Berumen appointed to Las Animas County Court

On Tuesday, Gov. Jared Polis has appointed Matthew Berumen, a civil litigation attorney at the Law Office of Kenneth E. Davidson, to the Las Animas County Court in the 3rd Judicial District, effective Feb. 5. Berumen’s appointment fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge John Mochel.

Berumen brings decades of legal experience, including previous roles in private practice, corporate counsel and compliance leadership and legal education. He earned his B.A. from Colorado State University and his J.D. from Whittier Law School.
