
Gov. Jared Polis on May 8 appointed Leslee K. Balten to the Eagle County Court in the 5th Judicial District. The judgeship was created pursuant to Senate Bill 25-024. The vacancy is effective July 1, 2026.
Balten is a partner and Breckenridge office manager at Ciancio Ciancio Brown, P.C., a position she has held since 2017. Her practice consists of domestic and civil matters. She is also a mediator and arbitrator at Divorce Resolutions, LLC, a position she has held since 2023.

Previously, Balten was an associate attorney at West Brown Huntley, P.C. from 2016 to 2017; an associate at Ciancio Ciancio Brown, P.C. from 2011 to 2016; program director at Electric Utility Consultants, Inc. from 2010 to 2011; and a law clerk for the Honorable Catherine A. Lemon from 2007 to 2010.
Balten earned her bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University in 2000 and her law degree from Vermont Law School in 2007.
