Gov. Jared Polis appointed Jon R. Schumacher to the Gunnison County Court in the 7th Judicial District. The appointment fills a vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Ashley Burgemeister and is effective immediately.
Schumacher has been the founding attorney at the Law Office of Schumacher & O’Loughlin LLC since 2011, handling civil and criminal matters. Previously, he was a senior associate attorney at Cliggett & Associates P.C. from 2003 to 2011; an attorney and founding member of Bachus, Schumacher & Schanker LLC from 1997 to 2002; and an associate attorney at Wilson & Associates P.C. from 1994 to 1996.
Schumacher earned his bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University in 1990 and his law degree from the University of North Dakota in 1994.
