23rd Judicial District Court judge appointed

Pursuant to her authority as acting governor under the Colorado Constitution, Article IV, § 13, Lt. Gov. Dianne Primavera has appointed Shelby Fyles to the 23rd Judicial District Court. Fyles’ appointment fills the vacancy created by the retirement of the Honorable Elizabeth Volz and is effective Feb. 2. 

Fyles is an associate judge for Aurora, where her docket consists of municipal matters. She has held the position since 2023. Fyles earned her B.S. from American University in 2006 and her J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 2011.
