This week’s 5Q features Brett Godfrey, founding partner and president at Godfrey Law, P.C., where his practice area is litigation.
He prefers coffee over tea during trial prep, digital versus paper briefs, and trial work rather than research and writing, and he considers himself an early-bird lawyer.
Question 1: What do you like most about Colorado?
Godfrey: It’s vast geographic diversity, developing high-tech industries, and the spirit and strength of Colorado’s citizens.
Q2: What do you like least about Colorado?
Godfrey: Poor government fiscal management; unnecessary spending.
Q3: If you weren’t a lawyer, what would you be doing in Colorado?
Godfrey: Writing fiction thriller novels. I published my first book on Amazon in 2019 entitled “Black Sunrise,” which has mostly all five-star reviews. I am currently working on the sequel.
Q4: What legal issue do you think will matter most in the next 10 years?
Godfrey: Preservation of constitutional rights.
Q5: What’s one case or moment that shaped your career?
Godfrey: Working with the late John Breit.
Godfrey, who has been in his position for 35 years, attended the University of Tulsa.
