
Caplan & Earnest LLC has announced new leads to its Litigation and Family Law practices. Member Elliott Hood will lead the firm’s Litigation practice, and member Chris Tomchuck will lead the firm’s Family Law practice.
Hood, who has been with the firm’s Litigation and Education Law practices for more than eight years, represents school districts, colleges and universities throughout Colorado in complex civil litigation matters.
“Elliott is an outstanding attorney, and I’ve had the privilege of working alongside him and watching him develop into one of Colorado’s most skilled and trusted education law litigators,” said Kristin Edgar, co-managing partner in charge of human resources and talent development.
Hood earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado Boulder and his law degree from Northwestern University. He also is an elected member of the University of Colorado Board of Regents.
Tomchuck, who has more than 20 years of experience, represents clients in divorce, custody, support, property division and other family law matters across Colorado.
“Chris brings a rare combination of legal acumen, emotional intelligence and genuine compassion to his work with clients during what are often the most difficult times in their lives,” Edgar said.
Tomchuck is a Colorado Chapter of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts board member and Colorado Bar fellow. Tomchuck was appointed recently as an attorney member to the Commission on Judicial Performance for the Fifth Judicial District.
