Office of the Child’s Representative seeking contract attorneys

The Office of the Child’s Representative is accepting applications through the end of the month for contract attorneys to represent children and youth in dependency, delinquency and other case types throughout Colorado. OCR contracts give attorneys the opportunity to make a positive impact on young people’s lives.

Attorneys receive comprehensive support, including guidance from a mentor, a training program and a range of legal and social science resources. Experience in child welfare law is not a requirement.

According to the agency’s website, “OCR is an independent state agency within the judicial branch charged with providing competent and effective legal representation to children and youth involved in judicial proceedings in Colorado. OCR establishes attorney practice standards and provides litigation support, accessible high-quality statewide training and oversight of the practice.”
