On October 22, the Colorado Judicial Institute (CJI) brought together legal professionals, community leaders, and supporters in downtown Denver for the annual Judicial Excellence for Colorado Awards Dinner. The evening celebrated public service and the dedicated judicial officers who work to strengthen Colorado’s legal system.
The centerpiece of the evening was recognizing four exceptional honorees whose initiatives inside and outside the courtroom reflect the highest ideals of our judiciary:
- District Court Judge Dea M. Lindsey (20th Judicial District):
- Received the Judicial Leadership Award for her work on the Judicial Equity Project, promoting equity awareness and supporting judicial diversity.
- Chief Judge Carl S. McGuire III (13th Judicial District): Honored for his service on the bench and his military service off the bench, as well as his exemplary leadership in a large, rural judicial district.
- County Court Judge Colleen E. Clark (Arapahoe County): Recognized for her dedication to judicial excellence and work supporting work-life balance through her “Moms on the Bench” initiatives.
- Magistrate Linda K. Connors (Larimer County): Honored for her pioneering work with trauma-informed courts to support vulnerable children and families.
