Week of April 29 – May 5, 2025

In a separate special edition this week, Law Week Colorado analyzed feedback from more than 100 in-house attorneys about job satisfaction, bonuses, salary trends and representative industries. In local courts, the 10th Circuit asked the EPA to further explain its decision to approve the revised definition of “commencement of operation.” Plus, the Colorado Court of Appeals ruled that evidence of prior abuse against witnesses are admissible in trials under Colorado Rule of Evidence 404(b) to buttress a witness’s credibility. Nationally, the U.S. Supreme Court found that an individual is entitled to supplementary security income benefits when they are eligible to receive an SSI cash payment during the month of hospitalization. In a 5-4 split, the high court also found that a military reservist is entitled to differential pay if they serve during a declared national emergency without needing to show their service is connected to a particular emergency.
