Gov. Polis appoints A. Danielle Touart to 18th Judicial District

Gov. Jared Polis on May 13 appointed A. Danielle Touart to the 18th Judicial District, effective July 1, 2026. This appointment fills a new judgeship created by Senate Bill 25-024.

Touart has served as an Arapahoe County Court judge in the 18th Judicial District since 2023, where her docket consists of criminal matters.


Previously, she was a supervising deputy public defender in the Centennial office of the Colorado State Public Defender from 2022 to 2023. She also served as a deputy public defender in that office from 2010 to 2017 and as a lead deputy public defender in the Arapahoe office from 2018 to 2022. From 2017 to 2018, she was an attorney with the Office of the Federal Public Defender for the Southern District of Texas.

Touart earned a bachelor’s degree from Auburn University in 2007 and a law degree from Samford University in 2010.
