Abby Kirkbride, a shareholder in Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck’s Real Estate Department, has joined the board of directors of Denver Urban Gardens, a nonprofit organization that supports community gardens and food access in the Denver area.
Kirkbride will serve a two-year term and will be a member of the organization’s development and real estate committees. Denver Urban Gardens supports 200 community gardens, including 66 school-based gardens and 24 food forests, as well as community programs across six Denver metro-area counties.
Kirkbride, a real estate attorney, first became involved with Denver Urban Gardens as a gardener in 2010 and reengaged with the organization before joining its board this summer. She grew up on a cattle ranch outside Chugwater, Wyoming.
“That personal history drives my dedication to DUG’s mission of fostering accessible community gardens and food security across the Denver metro area,” Kirkbride said.
