Gov. Polis Appoints Elise Myer to the 9th Judicial District Court

Gov. Jared Polis on June 21 appointed Elise Myer to fill a vacancy on the 9th Judicial District Court created by the retirement of Judge James Berkley Boyd effective July 1. 

Myer is the head of the Office of the Colorado State Public Defender in Glenwood Springs, a position she’s held since 2022. Previously, she was deputy public defender in the Glenwood Springs Office from 2011 to 2022. Her practice consists of criminal defense, according to the announcement. 


Myer earned her bachelor’s degree from Temple University in 2004 and her J.D. from the American University Washington College of Law in 2010.
