Gov. Polis Appoints Magistrate Judge Lisa Gomez to the Denver Juvenile Court

Gov. Jared Polis on March 21 appointed Magistrate Judge Lisa Gomez to the Denver Juvenile Court in the 2nd Judicial District. This vacancy was created by the retirement of Judge D. Brett Woods and is effective immediately. 

Gomez is a magistrate in the Denver Juvenile Court, a position she’s held since 2015. Previously, she was a guardian ad litem at the Colorado Office of the Child’s Representative from 2005 to 2015, and respondent parent counsel and guardian ad litem from 2008 to 2015, truancy defense counsel from 2011 to 2015 and contempt defense counsel from 2010 to 2015 at the State Court Administrator’s Office. Gomez was a solo practitioner at the Law Office of Lisa Gomez from 2005 to 2015. 


Gomez earned her bachelor’s degree from Metropolitan State College of Denver in 1997 and her law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2003.
