The 2nd Judicial District Nominating Commission has announced it has nominated three candidates for a district court judgeship, being created by the retirement of Judge Shelley Gilman, as the vacancy occurs Dec. 1.
Nominees Heidi Kutcher, Jon Olafson and Rebekah Watada, all of Denver, were selected by the commission Oct. 11, the announcement added.
Under the Colorado Constitution, the governor has 15 days from Oct. 12, within which to appoint one of the nominees as district court judge for the 2nd Judicial District (Denver County), the announcement explained.
