Law Firm Updates 

On April 28, Holland & Hart announced Kelsey Pollard joined the firm’s corporate practice in Denver as an associate. Pollard is a SMU Dedman School of Law graduate and works with energy and resource clients on project development and finance matters in the renewable energy industry. 


Cloud directory company JumpCloud, headquartered in Louisville, announced on April 26 that Eric Gunning was named as its chief legal officer. Gunning leads the company’s legal department on matters including compliance, M&As, international expansion and capital markets. The University of Colorado Law School graduate previously worked at Molson Coors International and Wilkinson Barker Knauer LLP. 

Rocky Mountain firm Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP announced on April 25 that David Denious was hired as a partner. The University of Virginia School of Law graduate will work on leveraged acquisitions and dispositions and corporate finance transaction matters at DGS. Prior to DGS, Denious worked out of the Philadelphia offices of international firms and brings experience advising corporate clients on complex, high value M&As and strategic alliances and private equity firms and financial sponsors on transactions. 

The Judiciary 

Gov. Jared Polis appointed Graham Peper on April 28 to fill an upcoming vacancy on the Jefferson County Court in the First Judicial District. Peper was previously the president and managing attorney at Peper Law Office, P.C. since 1995, handling criminal and juvenile law matters and serving as a guardian ad litem. The University of Denver Sturm College of Law graduate takes over the position from Judge Harold Sargent who is retiring on May 31. 

The current term for part-time U.S. Magistrate Judge James Candelaria will expire in January 2023. The Colorado federal district court will assemble a panel to consider Candelaria’s reappointment for a four-year term. As part of its consideration process, the panel will review comments from the public and the bar on reappointment. Kudos 

Colorado firm Ireland Stapleton Pryor & Pascoe, PC announced April 28 that regulatory attorney Tom Downey was appointed to the Denver Film board of directors. He is one of five new board members at the nonprofit arts organization.
