Spencer Fane, Snell & Wilmer Announce New Attorneys, Colorado Chamber of Commerce Releases 2024 Legislative Agenda

Spencer Fane LLP announced Dec. 13 Amy Knapp joined the labor and employment practice group as of counsel in the firm’s Denver office. Knapp regularly reviews, revises and advises on employment policies and practices, personnel issues and the legal implications of management decisions to avoid litigious matters. She also assists employers in resolving claims brought before state and federal agencies. Knapp earned her law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. 


Snell & Wilmer announced Dec. 14 six attorneys have been elected to join the firm’s partnership, effective March 1, 2024, including Denver-based attorney Laurie Choi. Additionally, six attorneys were promoted to the counsel role, effective Jan. 1, 2024, including Denver-based Gary Graca. Choi focuses on commercial litigation. She counsels clients through construction contract drafting and negotiation, resolution of disputes arising from construction projects, legal advice for providing construction services, filing and bonding around mechanic’s liens and other construction concerns. Graca focuses on real estate with an emphasis on commercial finance and corporate and securities. He has represented investment groups in acquisition matters and has served as counsel to several manufacturing and service industry entities involved in bank refinancing, workouts and orderly liquidations. 

Miscellaneous 

The Colorado Chamber of Commerce released its 2024 Legislative Agenda ahead of the upcoming state legislative session. The agenda is guided by the chamber’s recent launch of Vision 2033, a 10-year strategic action plan for Colorado’s business climate. The Colorado chamber’s priority legislation includes proposals developed through its industry and issue-based alliances. The chamber noted its Education to Employment Alliance played a critical role in formulating proposals to tackle workforce challenges. Through its Environmental Sustainability and Climate Action Task Force, the chamber will support solutions to help the state meet climate goals, including a regulatory framework and incentives for carbon capture and underground storage. The chamber’s focus is to improve Colorado’s regulatory climate and fight proposals that may create unnecessary burdens on business. 

As the Colorado Bar Foundation marks its 70th year of dedicated service, the organization released its annual report, highlighting growth in its grant program and an expanded funding base. Key highlights from the annual report include $305,475 in total funds awarded across a total of 70 grants with an average grant size of $4,364. The Colorado Bar Foundation also noted 69% of submitted applications were awarded a grant. The organization acknowledged the crucial role played by its diverse funding sources.
