Squire Patton Boggs announced leadership appointments across several U.S. offices and one global practice group, including the appointment of Denver partner Alex Arensberg as deputy managing partner of the firm’s Denver office.
The firm also named Keith Shumate managing partner of its Columbus office, Alethia Nancoo managing partner of its Washington, D.C., office, Francesca Crisera Ruiz managing partner of its Northern California offices and Kendra Sherman practice group leader of its global Environmental, Safety and Health Practice.

Arensberg, a partner in the firm’s Environmental, Safety and Health Practice, advises clients on permitting and regulatory compliance matters arising under federal and state environmental laws. In his new role, he will work with Denver Managing Partner and Global Co-Managing Partner Peter Gould to support the firm’s operations in the Mountain West.
Shumate, a partner in the Litigation Practice, succeeds Traci Martinez as managing partner of the Columbus office. Nancoo, a partner in the Public and Infrastructure Finance Practice and the firm’s global head of transportation infrastructure finance, succeeds Michael Curto as managing partner of the Washington, D.C., office. Crisera Ruiz, who leads the firm’s global Technology M&A group and serves on its AI Subcommittee, succeeds Mark Dosker as managing partner of the Northern California offices. Sherman, a partner in the Environmental, Safety and Health Practice, also serves as the firm’s U.S. national hiring chair.
The appointments follow recent leadership changes that included the appointments of Traci Martinez and Peter Gould as global co-managing partners and Andrew Wilkinson as European managing partner.
