Gov. Jared Polis Appoints Lane Thomasson to the Ouray County Court in the 7th Judicial District

Gov. Jared Polis on April 7 appointed Lane Thomasson to fill a vacancy on the Ouray County Court in the 7th Judicial District. This judgeship is created by the resignation of Judge Zachary Martin and is effective immediately.

Thomasson is an associate with Hockersmith & Whitmore, LLC., a position she’s held since 2021. Her practice consists of property law and civil litigation. Previously, Thomasson was an assistant county attorney for the Montrose County Attorney’s Office from 2017 to 2021 and a deputy district attorney in the 7th Judicial District from 2015 to 2017. Thomasson received her bachelor’s degree from Smith College in 2006 and her J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2015.
