Gov. Polis Appoints Reid Stewart to the La Plata County Court

Gov. Jared Polis on Feb. 17 appointed Reid Stewart to the La Plata County Court in the 6th Judicial District. The vacancy was created by the appointment of Judge Anthony Baca to the 6th Judicial District Court and is effective immediately. 

Stewart is self-employed as a motor carrier, a position he’s held since 2022. He negotiates and reviews carrier/broker agreements. Previously, he was a deputy district attorney in the 6th Judicial District Attorney’s Office from 2009 to 2022, associate attorney at the Law Office of Patrick J. Mulligan, P.C. from 2002 to 2008, associate attorney at Stinnett Thiebaud & Remington, L.L.P. from 2001 to 2002 and assistant DA in Kaufman County, Texas, from 1999 to 2001. 


Stewart earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1995 and his J.D. from Texas Wesleyan School of Law in 1998.
